life above : hidden objects below

You wouldn't ever have guessed, but this photo was taken of the clouds above what I would perceive as an obtrusive mini mart and Dollar Store around the corner from where I live.

eating without objects

Ethiopian food from the new Lilu Cafe, Rochester NY. No forks required, just roll everything into the spongy bread called injera. This bread is semi cold to the touch, has a porous texture, and absorbs and holds any food that you wrap in it. This concept of touching food without using a fork seems at first awkward for the inexperienced, but soon becomes second nature. But it proposes the thought - of... maybe all this business of using forks can actually distance you from the dining experience, because you aren't feeling and holding what you are eating. Using your fingers definitely puts you closer to the food in a way that makes you connect with it.

objects of spring : collection of new leaves

The freshness and tenderness of the texture of new leaves. They seem to be waxier, and because of this they are shinier and more transparent in their brand new state.

objects of spring : collection of various petals

These petals fell off the trees the mid month of April in early spring where I live in Rochester, they quickly start to decompose but for a couple of days are scattered about, in piles of pink, white and buttery cream. Walking past the fallen petals was almost like stumbling upon the day after a huge party that nature threw for itself.
